Over the years what we wear has proven to be more than a covering of ones nakedness as was the case of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. It has grown to become part of Man’s identity that reflects his culture, region, belief system, and values.
For the fashion conscious, the choice of style and color says a whole lot about personality and mood. Bright colors such as white, yellow, red, pink, green, purple and blue, often depicts peace, joy, hope, fruitfulness, and love, while colors like black, grey, and brown sometimes depicts sadness, quietness, the longing to be alone and not attract attention.
In places like India where animal worship is prevalent, the use of animal skin in fashion is not a top choice and totally frowned at by the orthodox folks. In other cultures, like the Scottish culture, Male skirts are a norm depicting status and rank depending on the design.

Respectively, In the post colonial and freedom era, fashion has been used by bold voices for peaceful protest, collectively as in a march and individually as they go about their businesses. Fashion can be said to be an effective tool for societal changes contributing to the gradual eradication of demeaning practices such as lynching, racism, and the caste system.
